May General Meeting – Lion’s Tail Brewing

Spring has sprung and what better way to celebrate than bring in the Fox Valley’s finest, Lion’s Tail Brewing Co.  Sales Manager Eric Henzel will be in the house sharing some of the best beer in the state.  In the Milwaukee area, we don’t always get a lot of distribution form Lion’s Tail, but when you find it, grab it, trust us.

A little more than 5 years ago they hit the brewing scene in the Fox Valley and have taken the are by storm.  If you’ve seen it around the MKE area, you are probably already familiar with Juice Cloud, a NEIPA that could be considered their flagship.  While they are known for their IPA’s, they are also leading the charge making slushee style beers, super clean lagers, and some pretty decadent stouts.  What will Eric be bringing Wednesday, May 26th?  We won’t say, only one way to find out.  Join us at Clifford’s Supper Club in Hales Corners at 7:30pm to be in the know.

April General Meeting – Bavarian Bierhaus

This month we welcome our friend, and World of Beer Festival, Bavarian Bierhaus.  If you missed their Halftoberfest celebration, look no further than Clifford’s Supper Club in Hales Corners, 7:30PM, Wednesday April 28th.  We will have the delicious German beer that Bavarian Bierhaus makes on site alongside multiple dipping sauces to pair with Milwaukee Pretzel Company pretzels.

Don’t forget, if you have lederhosen or a dirndl, you are HIGHLY recommended to wear it to celebrate with us.  We are always welcoming new members as well as guests.  $15 for guests, please bring cash.  We hope to see you there.

March General Meeting – Cache Cider, March 24th

This month we welcome Ethan Keller, Owner and Cidermaker from Cache Cider.  Focusing on single varietal ciders, Cache takes a slightly more traditional swing at ciders, but one that really shows the full expression of the apples.  That’s not to say that there isn’t going to be a little more magic going on in the cidery.

Please join us at Clifford’s Supper Club in Hales Corners on Wednesday, March 24th, at 7:30 to hear the story of Cache and taste some of Ethan’s excellent work.  If you can’t make it to the meeting, then make sure to find Cache on Facebook or at the taproom, 2612 S. Greeley St. in Bay View.  Hope to see you there!

February General Meeting – Revolution Brewing

This month, we welcome Kevin Kuzlik of Revolution Brewing to share some of the best beer available from our neighbors to the south.  They are the largest independently owned brewery in the State of Illinois and have won multiple awards from FOBAB to GABF to regularly being recognized by the Brewers Association as one of the best breweries in the nation.

Only a short drive from the Milwaukee area, they have two locations.  One is the site of their main brewery, which also houses a German beer hall inspired tap room.  The second is the brewpub, the original location, which has some outstanding pub food and a tap lineup that rivals pretty much any craft beer bar around.

They are well known for their lineup of “Heroes” but over the past few years, their Deep Woods Series has really put them on the map with some amazing barrel aged beers.  If you join us for the meeting, you just might get to try one of them.   You can join us on February 24th, at 7:30, at Clifford’s Supper Club in Hales Corners.

January General Meeting – Gadget night w/Dave January 27 – 7:30

After a year off, our own Dave Campbell is back with another installment of gadget night. A machinist and YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrd5W8kV0qjLNBtQsfF8KFA) celebrity will be presenting some of his favorite inventions for brewing that you can hopefully add to your toolbox. Also, before the meeting, we will have another swap meet. If you have equipment you are looking to sell or trade, or if you are looking to purchase or are in need of something, join us starting at 7:00 and look to make a deal. The swap meet will end when the general meeting starts at 7:30.

We kindly ask that if you are planning on attending, you sign up in advance. We will have some commercial beer for the meeting and want to plan ahead. As with past months, we will be taking temperatures upon entry and will serve any beer from the jockey boxes or commercial beers in single serving cups. The link to sign up can be found below.

Big Brew Day II – Munich Helles

Back in November we brewed a huge batch of Munich Helles at Spike Brewing on their 50 gallon system and split that batch multiple way with different yeast strains and temperatures. This month is the day those beers go on tap so we can break down the effects of these differences.

We also will have Milwaukee Pretzel Company pretzels for your enjoyment as well since it is the perfect compliment to this light and crisp beer style.

Holiday Party 2018

The holiday party is finally here!  The meeting starts early this month, 7:00pm.  Guest are welcome tonight for the standard $15 fee.  Like always, we are meeting at Cliffords Supper Club in Hales Corners.  There is no formal programming or guests tonight but we do have elections for our Board so please make sure to get there to vote.

Cliffords will be providing broasted chicken and potatoes.  Please bring a dish to pass, as long as it doesn’t require a heat source.  Tonight is the night to eat, drink, and be merry alongside your fellow Barons.  We will have some excellent beers on tap tonight also.  Hope to see you all there.
