An important part of the our mission is promoting the education and advancement of brewing – it’s in our missions statement. As a part of this education initiative, we offer one yearly scholarship for a local brewery professional to attend the World Brewing Academy Concise Course in Brewing Technology or any one of the three two-week modules from the International Diploma in Brewing Technology Program held at the Siebel Institute in Chicago.
This scholarship is funded with proceeds from our World of Beer Festival. We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to promote brewing education and positively impact the beer made in our area. The Concise Course in Brewing Technology is a two-week intensive program that covers every topic critical to successful brewery operations.
The International Diploma in Brewing Technology Program is intended for brewers who seek an in-depth understanding of a specific brewing discipline. This is the first part of the Master Brewer Program and consists of the following modules: Raw Materials & Wort Production, Beer Production & Quality Control, Packaging & Process Technology.
This scholarship is awarded on the basis of technical merit and potential community impact. It is open to brewing professionals in a mid-western state including: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. It is for brewing staff only, not management or sales/marketing staff.
Our 2017 Scholarship application window is now closed.
Best of luck to all the applicants!
