Real Ale Festival
March
The
Real Ale Festival was launched in 1996 by Ray Daniels and Steve Hamburg with
extensive assistance from the Chicago Beer Society and Goose Island Beer Company.
The idea for an event focused on a single genre of beer (British-style real
ales). Its grown to include beer dinners, hundreds of ales, speakers, and
too much other stuff to even begin to mention. You will have opportunities
to try ales that you'll never get again at this unusual event. You might even
be lucky enough to get to tap a firkin!
The Beer Barons of Milwaukee ran a bus trip to this festival. Unfortunately, liquor license and venue problems put an end to the festival.
The Beer Barons salute Ray Daniels and the rest of the Chicago people's efforts in putting on what was a great event.
Pictures from our last trip in 2003 are here. As with all of our trips so far - everybody had a great time.
